rule 3 ~ Eat and be thin!

Ha, up early, silks ironed and rolled ready to go, no time for breakfast, rush to get out, feed and water the birds, chase off the heron, set out Busters hunt the thimble biscuits and GO!
NOW I find the right colour leaves and sand marks to lust after, photos, drawings, bags full of detritus! What to do with it all? The 5 inch square has to be finalised by tomorrow, and a plan for the 10 ft long piece, fun! might get the plant dye book out to check the colours, I do have some fab silver and red bark from the weeping snowgum to grind and try, that will be fun, not sure how to grind ~ will try the kitchen kit first!! Looking forward to developing the colours, wonder if there will be oils and a perfume?
So lots to do, better get on with it!.

Day two

Met some lovely people at the Langport Smokery, delicious food and later at Secret Valley Vinyard and Yurt/wigwam farm even better with wine tasting and walk. Great wines from this new vinyard and lovely lovely people. managed some drawing there and a side visit to 'Temple of Harmony' hmm not much of that methinks! barbed wire, keep out sinage and fencing all round the public pathways to keep us 'in line'!
So to work, a plan is imminent. I have the materials and outline so now to set out the methods! I do need to get some conductive threads and some of the heat/light reactive dyes soon though or I will run ot of time!
The yellow ochre piece is coming on well, I have a good collection of found objects including a sea and sand abraded metal pin from a boundary gate which is heavy but otherwise perfect. Photos soon.

Day One

Whoops, did I really want to do this? I'm not a naturally consistent journal writer, we'll have a go and maybe turn a corner or two. Things to do today, digest fashioning technology, catch up with the library for book club, review submissions for textile show in November, plan workload to get ready for Loves exhibition in October - oh heck, thats next week!
Who reads this stuff anyway?
